CASA Houston

CASA Houston is a satellite study center for the University of Houston - College of Architecture and Design in Rome. Following the concept of ‘Little tradition, more modernism’ the design creates a dialogue between the traditional roman courtyard and the exterior urban spaces. The structure follows the natural topography of the site resulting in a play of levels between the public and residential zones. The exterior skin, a system of jaali walls inspired by the ‘legion flag’ has punctures of varied sizes to allow natural light and ventilation.
